These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CP HUD (the "Extension") and any related services provided by Observed Patterns Inc. ("Observed Patterns", "we", "us", or "our"), a corporation registered in British Columbia, Canada.
By installing the Extension, completing a purchase, or entering a license key, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Extension.
CP HUD is a Chrome browser extension that reads LLM conversation sessions in real time, calculates a clarity score, and displays session flow state via an overlay interface. The Extension operates entirely within your browser. No data is transmitted to external servers.
CP HUD is offered in two tiers:
Features, functionality, and supported platforms may change over time. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain core functionality but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, particularly following updates to third-party platforms (Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Gemini) that the Extension reads.
Upon successful purchase of CP HUD PRO, Observed Patterns grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the PRO tier of the Extension on your own devices.
CP HUD PRO is sold as a one-time digital purchase. All payments are processed securely via Stripe.
Refund policy: Because CP HUD PRO is a digital product delivered via an instantly-activated license key, all sales are final and non-refundable once the key has been delivered. If you experience a technical issue preventing the key from functioning, contact us at observedpatterns@gmail.com and we will work to resolve it.
Prices are listed in Canadian dollars (CAD) unless otherwise stated. Applicable taxes may apply depending on your jurisdiction.
All content, code, design, scoring methodology, frameworks, and documentation associated with CP HUD and Observed Patterns are the intellectual property of Observed Patterns Inc. and/or its licensors. All rights reserved.
You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, distribute, or create derivative works from CP HUD without express written permission from Observed Patterns.
The Observed Patterns name, CP HUD name, and associated branding are proprietary. Unauthorized use is prohibited.
CP HUD is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all browser configurations. Third-party platforms (Claude.ai, ChatGPT, Gemini) may update their interfaces in ways that temporarily affect Extension functionality. We will make reasonable efforts to restore compatibility following such changes but cannot guarantee timelines.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Observed Patterns shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use CP HUD, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Extension shall not exceed the amount you paid for CP HUD PRO in the twelve months preceding the claim.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of British Columbia, Canada.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Extension following notice of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be communicated via the observedpatterns.ca website.
Observed Patterns Inc. is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle information in connection with CP HUD and observedpatterns.ca. It applies to all users of the Extension and visitors to our website.
This policy is designed to comply with applicable Canadian privacy legislation including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
CP HUD Extension — conversation data: None. The Extension reads your LLM conversation text to calculate the C score. This processing happens entirely within your browser. Conversation content is never transmitted to Observed Patterns or any third party. It never leaves your device.
CP HUD Extension — local storage: The Extension uses your browser's localStorage to store your skin preference (Neo Tokyo or Cassette Futurism), your tier status (FREE or PRO), and session history metrics (turn counts, C scores). This data exists only on your device and is not accessible to us.
Purchase information: When you purchase CP HUD PRO, payment is processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation that a purchase was completed and a record sufficient to deliver your license key. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
Contact inquiries: If you email us at observedpatterns@gmail.com, we retain your correspondence to respond to your inquiry and for our records.
Website (observedpatterns.ca): Our website may collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited. This is standard hosting infrastructure data and is not used to personally identify visitors.
CP HUD is architected with privacy as a non-negotiable constraint. The Extension's scoring engine runs entirely in-browser as a content script. It reads the conversation DOM, performs variance calculations locally, and outputs a score to the HUD overlay. At no point does any conversation content, prompt text, or response text leave your browser or reach any external server operated by Observed Patterns.
This architecture is intentional and permanent. It is also what makes CP HUD suitable for use in enterprise and government environments where data sovereignty is required.

We retain purchase records and associated license key information for as long as necessary to support your license and comply with legal obligations. Contact correspondence is retained for a reasonable period to maintain records of support interactions. You may request deletion of contact records at any time.
Extension localStorage data exists only on your device. You can clear it at any time by uninstalling the Extension or clearing your browser's local storage.
